Bring Home the Gold

 

This art piece was inspired by Jamaican Track Star “Usain Bolt” who won the 100 meters world record in 9.63 seconds at the London 2012 Olympics. This is still an Olympic Record. What a thrill to see him come from behind and win in a record breaking event of less than 10 seconds.

 

The Jamaican Flag is evident along with other countries in this painting.  In 1948, Arthur Wint won Jamaica’s first Olympic Gold at the London Olympics in the 400 meters in 46.2 seconds.  Wint was also a WWII pilot, surgeon and diplomat.
